 Recording on a PC
Ok, i'm thinking that sometime in the next couple of months i'll look into this instead of my old Tascam 488.
Has anyone got any experiences with it - any audio interfaces which you can reccomend ?

 Re: Recording on a PC
I've got an old M-Audio Delta 44 soundcard, going into an even older version of Cubase. It works, and I can record 4 channels simultaneously (L/R from POD, L/R from Drum Machine when I can be arsed to programme it). I think the Delta cards are still available, and last time I looked, they weren't too expensive.
If you want to just do some guitar ideas, those amp modeller do-dats with USB interfaces are pretty handy, just so long as you have the right software to record with. There's quite a few "Guitar Studio" type packages out there, that won't break the bank, or you can get the slightly hooky copies of the much more advanced packages (Cubase/Pro Tools/Sonar/etc) from various Computer Fairs (if you can really be arsed going to one).
There's always the digital replacement's for the good old analogue portastudio affairs, that also have amp modelling/drum machine electrickery built in, and aren't too expensive.
Thing to remember when recording digitally is to layer/double track (copy & paste) everything to make it sound reasonable. If you just have a single track of guitar, it sounds thin & weedy...
